Warren Hodges – Winston-Salem, NC
This is my 50th year of riding multi-speed bicycles. In a word, bicycles have helped form my existence. I started riding for fun and to get places in our small town in Iowa. Later, when an accident ended my running career, I fell back in love with cycling. Now I ride to keep fit and to challenge my college students to do the same.
Cycling has also saved my life, literally, since I am the only adult in my family not on any kind of heart, blood pressure or diabetes medicine. My blood pressure is exactly what it was 40 years ago. My weight is up 10 pounds in those same 40 years.
Bicycle: it will improve and extend your life. Then challenge others to fully enjoy their lives.
