Bicycling has helped me stay alive for the past 15 years. It’s a key part of my cancer prevention battle plan. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2003. After treatment, I changed my eating habits and got back on my bike. Since 2003, I have ridden over 26,000 miles—including annual trips of Mt. Baldy in California. I’ve dropped 15 pounds and my cancer is still in remission. Research says that a good diet and exercise can prevent over 30 percent of all cancers. I not a cancer researcher, but I’m pretty sure cycling played a role in keeping me on this planet.
