The first PlacesForBikes Conference was held June 28 – 30, 2017 at the Monona Terrace in Madison, Wisconsin. It brought together hundreds of leaders from cities and towns across the U.S. who are interested in activating the power of bikes to achieve broader community goals. It focused on quickly improving bike infrastructure to connect people to education, employment, recreation and transit. Attendees learned how projects both large and small, from major new pathways to small pump tracks from protected bike lanes to mountain bike trails, can transform and invirgorate communities for both locals and visitors.
